How users opt in

PointYield collects SMS consent through the authenticated PointYield web experience. Users opt in by choosing SMS alerts themselves; SMS is not enabled by default.

  1. 1

Create a PointYield account and complete onboarding, or open Account settings after signing in.

  2. 2

Enter or confirm a phone number in the notifications experience.

  3. 3

Turn on SMS Alerts and save notification preferences.

  4. 4

Receive recurring automated informational text messages for PointYield opportunities and alert activity you requested.

When SMS alerts are enabled, the user is agreeing to receive recurring automated informational text messages about PointYield flight opportunities and alert activity they requested through the product.

What messages users receive

PointYield sends informational SMS alerts about flight opportunities and monitoring activity the user has requested. Messages may include:

  • route
  • cabin
  • loyalty program
  • miles or points price
  • seat count
  • timing of the opportunity
  • a PointYield link to review the opportunity

Operational notes

PointYield currently stores the phone number used for SMS delivery and the related notification preference state on the user account when SMS alerts are enabled.

SMS alert availability depends on the user’s PointYield access level. Free-tier accounts are limited to email delivery and cannot enable SMS alerts.

Users can update or disable SMS alert preferences from the PointYield account notification settings after signing in.
